Finding things to do on Reseda Boulevard

Finding things to do on Reseda Boulevard

What do you do if you have time to kill and you don’t want to lose your campus parking spot? All you have to do is walk to Reseda Boulevard.

On foot, you will see shops that you probably have never noticed before: a comic book store, the 99 Cent Store (for cheap school supplies), Acapulco, The Habit, Starbucks (for that coffee fix), Baskin Robbins, Rite Aid, My Hero, Ross, etc.

For those that are into collecting comic books, reading graphic novels or need a new Batman t-shirt then Earth to Comics is the place for you. Located right across from the 99 Cent Store, this place is easy to miss if you do not look carefully.

To get to the store use the crosswalk at the intersection of Reseda and Nordhoff (directly across from the Chase Bank), walk south along the boulevard and you will soon encounter a painting of Wolverine on the side of the store. They are open every day at 11 a.m. except Wednesdays when they open at 10 a.m.

The Habit, a hamburger place that originated in Santa Barbara, is now walking distance from CSUN. They offer cheeseburgers, hamburgers, sandwiches and even vegetarian burgers. The Habit is on Reseda at Dearborn, right next to Chipotle.

Acapulco is a Mexican restaurant and cantina that is best known for their Margarita Mondays. Margaritas are served at $2.50 or $2.75 depending on the flavors used. They also have a happy hour, Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. which includes appetizers, alcohol beverages and $1 tacos.

There are many other things to do on your breaks between classes if you just walk around and keep your eyes open.

For CSUN discounts check out: www.matadordiscounts.com. Some of the places listed are on Reseda Boulevard.

One note on walking Reseda Boulevard is to always use the crosswalks with street lights and avoid using the crosswalk on Reseda and Dearborn where cars come flying through with no care for pedestrians.
